For as long as I can remember I loved to build things. My father is an electrician by trade but there was nothing he couldn’t learn to do himself. Shelves for the kitchen pantry, plumbing, tiling, complete renovations to helping me build wooden Barbie furniture, he was game for all of it and I was his apprentice. Over the years I graduated from Barbie furniture to renovations in the first home my husband and I bought in Toronto. My father and often my uncle were my personal contractors. I loved a good project and learned so much along the way.
Twelve years ago my husband and I bought a home in a fabulous neighbourhood in midtown Toronto. The house had not been updated in decades. Where other people saw a long, intimidating, complicated renovation, I saw nothing but opportunity. I got right to work, hiring an incredible architect and contractor. My passion for design, function and a beautiful home to raise our family was born and so was my business.
I have learned that many people shy away from doing a big renovation because they find it stressful, daunting and time consuming. Unlike me, they don’t get excited about choosing the perfect tile or planning a closet to suit your exact needs or finding the perfect chair to fit in that corner. That’s where I come in. I can help you find an architect and a builder. I can walk you through your entire building process. I can collaborate with the entire team on your behalf. I can explain in plain language what your architect and contractor mean. I can narrow your tile decision down to 3 choices for you. And I can definitely find you the perfect chair for that corner!
